This bill requires the Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), in consultation with the Commissioner of Health, to create and implement a comprehensive public awareness campaign about gambling risks and resources for compulsive gamblers in New Jersey. The campaign must provide detailed information about gambling risks, potential consequences, addiction rates, and available support resources. The campaign will be delivered through multiple media channels including newspapers, radio, public service announcements, social media, television advertisements, and other appropriate outlets, with implementation required within 180 days of the bill's enactment. The DGE is authorized to accept grants or funds from federal agencies, foundations, or other entities to support the campaign. Additionally, the Director must submit a report to the Governor and Legislature within 24 months detailing the campaign's activities and accomplishments. The bill appropriates $200,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Law and Public Safety to develop and implement this public awareness initiative, with the goal of educating the public about the potential dangers of gambling and providing support for those struggling with gambling addiction.
