This resolution commends Anita Reynolds Howard for her distinguished service as district attorney of the Macon Judicial Circuit, which covers Bibb, Crawford, and Peach counties in Georgia. In 2020, she made history by becoming the first African American and female district attorney in this circuit, winning over 70 percent of the vote. With more than 18 years of experience as a career prosecutor, Howard has implemented innovative initiatives like the Intake Investigative Unit and Specialized Prosecution Units. Beyond traditional prosecution, she has developed community-focused programs such as R.I.S.E. (Restoring Inspiration by Success in Education), Genesis Academy, and Camp Hope America's first Georgia affiliate, which provide critical support to youth, families, and crime victims. She has received numerous accolades, including recognitions from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Child Fatality Review Committee and the Law and Justice Woman of the Year Award.
