AI Summary
This bill establishes a two-year pilot program through the Georgia Department of Public Health focused on home visiting for families with children who have asthma. The program will provide trained home visitors who will conduct assessments of home environments to identify and help reduce asthma triggers, such as potential environmental risk factors that can exacerbate the condition. The Department of Public Health will be responsible for developing training requirements for home visitors, creating assessment tools to document and discuss methods for reducing asthma triggers, and providing administrative support. Home visitors will offer education about potential asthma triggers and make recommendations to improve the home environment. The department is required to submit annual reports to state leadership, including the Governor and heads of legislative committees, detailing the program's implementation and effectiveness. The pilot program is set to run from its initiation until June 30, 2028, at which point it will automatically terminate, with the final report including recommendations about potential expansion or permanent implementation of the program.
