Established in 2019 through a partnership between the National Leadership Group Inc. and former State Representative Valencia Stovall, the awards celebrate single parents who have overcome challenges and made outstanding achievements across various categories. The resolution specifically honors seven "Legacy Builders" award winners in areas including Education, Medical & Health, Community Service, Business, Public Service, Faith-Based, and Arts & Entertainment, as well as two "Overcomer Founder" Award recipients, one "Ruth Brewster Endurance" Award recipient, and one "Historian" Award recipient. The resolution acknowledges the immense challenges single parents face in raising children and seeks to recognize their dedication, resilience, and commitment to nurturing successful and responsible future generations.
