This resolution honors Barbara Joyce Driver-Rice on her 70th birthday, recognizing her life accomplishments and personal background. Born on October 17, 1954, in Hughes, Arkansas, she is the daughter of Etta M. Driver Rayborn and David Clyde Driver, Sr., and sister to Representative Karen Camper. She graduated from Southside High School in 1972 and earned a secretarial degree from Miller Hawkins Business College, where she demonstrated exceptional typing and shorthand skills. Driver-Rice worked at the Pentagon for the Air Force and later retired from the San Angelo Independent School District in Texas. She is a devoted mother of six children and grandmother to 25 grandchildren, and is known for her love of cooking and traveling, having visited 37 states. The resolution, passed by the Tennessee House of Representatives and Senate, celebrates her life, extends best wishes for continued success and happiness, and provides for an official commemorative copy to be prepared for presentation.
