This list will be updated whenever either the Secretary of the Interior or the Secretary of Energy updates their respective designations, with efforts to coordinate these updates. Federal departments and agencies that use the definitions of "critical mineral" or "critical material" from this section will be required to use the most current version of this combined list for administering relevant programs. The bill aims to harmonize and align the separate lists of critical minerals and critical materials.
