This bill modifies the eligibility requirements for postsecondary institutions to receive state student aid in Minnesota by adding a new transparency requirement. Specifically, eligible institutions must now prominently display job placement rates and gainful employment outcomes for each of their specific fields of study, including median earnings of graduates, in both their catalog and website. Institutions will be required to annually report this job placement and earnings information to the state office using metrics developed by that office. The bill also gives the office the authority to randomly audit institutions to verify the accuracy of their reported information and requires the office to report any non-compliance to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees responsible for higher education.
