This bill requires state-supported institutions of higher education in Arkansas to provide enhanced career counseling and resources to their students. Specifically, the Division of Higher Education must maintain a website with a dedicated section for career counseling and career-related resources, which includes information about available career and technical training and employment opportunities in trade industries. Each state-supported higher education institution must include a link to these resources on their own website and actively inform students about how to access career counseling services. Importantly, these career services must remain available to students for up to six months after they are no longer enrolled, upon request. The bill excludes concurrently enrolled students and students who have already enrolled in a subsequent institution of higher education from these requirements. The goal appears to be improving career guidance and support for students by making career resources more accessible and ensuring continued support even after a student leaves an institution.
