This bill appropriates $300 million from the State General Fund to support repairs and improvements at Mississippi's three Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, and Mississippi Valley State University. The funds will be available from the bill's passage until June 30, 2026, and will be disbursed by the State Treasurer upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer. This legislation aims to support and modernize these important educational institutions that have historically served Black students in Mississippi.
