This resolution commends the Duluth Fall Festival, a long-standing annual community event founded in 1983 that has made significant contributions to the City of Duluth. Over its 41-year history, the festival has raised and donated more than $2 million to local projects and nonprofits, including constructing the $1.3 million Duluth Festival Center and providing over $250,000 in community contributions. The festival has received national recognition, including being named the fifth-greatest festival in the nation by Country Living magazine and winning the Southeast Festivals and Events Association's Best Large Festival award in 2016. Entirely volunteer-driven with over 300 dedicated volunteers, the festival has been recognized by Best of Gwinnett magazine as the best local festival in Gwinnett County every year since 2009. The resolution formally commends the Duluth Fall Festival for its outstanding contributions to community engagement, civic pride, and economic development, and directs the House of Representatives Clerk to provide an official copy of the resolution to the festival organizers.
