This resolution commends Communities in Schools of Atlanta (CIS of Atlanta), a nonprofit organization that supports students across six metro Atlanta school districts by placing caring adults in schools to provide academic, emotional, and financial support. The organization serves approximately 49,000 students during the 2023-2024 school year, with 3,914 receiving intensive individualized support, and boasts impressive outcomes where 99 percent of those students remain in school and 98 percent graduate or are promoted to the next grade level, which is 14 percent above the average. The resolution recognizes CIS of Atlanta's mission to empower students by collaborating with teachers, parents, and community partners to meet each student's unique needs, and formally honors the organization for its tremendous service to youth in metro Atlanta. Additionally, the resolution directs the House of Representatives' Clerk to make an official copy of the resolution available for distribution to the organization.
