The bill defines key terms such as "elected constitutional officer" (including state-level elected officials), "judicial official" (including current and former judges at various levels), and "immediate family member" (including spouses, children, and relatives with the same permanent address). The legislation prohibits governmental entities from posting or displaying a wide range of personal information, including home addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, bank account details, vehicle registration information, photographs of residences or vehicles, children's identifying information, birthdates, workplace and school information, and voter registration details. If such information is publicly posted, the affected official can request its removal, and the governmental entity must comply within three days. The primary purpose of this bill is to enhance the privacy and personal security of public officials and their families by limiting the accessibility of their sensitive personal information through public records and online platforms.
