This joint resolution extends the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force, which was originally created by Act 2023-260 to study the health implications of chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes. The resolution provides the task force with an additional year to continue developing recommendations, specifically extending its reporting deadline to the fifteenth legislative day of the 2026 Regular Session. Upon filing its report with key legislative leaders, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the task force will be dissolved and discharged of any future duties. The resolution also mandates that the task force comply with state transparency requirements by providing the Secretary of State with notices of all meetings, a list of task force members, and copies of all documents produced during its work. This extension allows the task force more time to comprehensively research and develop recommendations related to chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes health implications.
