This bill revises Nevada's gaming laws to strengthen penalties for illegal gaming activities. Specifically, the bill requires that in addition to existing criminal penalties, any person found guilty of certain gaming law violations must disgorge (give up) any profits, gains, or other financial benefits derived from their illegal activities. These funds will be paid to the State Treasurer and deposited in the State General Fund. The bill modifies three existing statutes: NRS 463.360, which covers licensing violations; NRS 465.088, which addresses gambling-related offenses; and NRS 465.092, which prohibits accepting wagers from people physically present in Nevada. In the case of NRS 465.092, the bill also upgrades the penalty for accepting unauthorized wagers from a misdemeanor to a gross misdemeanor. The changes aim to more strongly deter illegal gaming activities by not only imposing criminal penalties but also ensuring that individuals cannot financially benefit from breaking gaming laws. The bill applies to various scenarios, including operating without a proper license, cheating at gambling, and accepting wagers from people within the state through any communication medium.
