The store has received significant recognition, including being named Grocer of the Year in 2000 and Business of the Year in 2017, and is now partially owned by their daughter Wendy. The resolution notes KBV's strong community involvement, its reputation for excellent customer service, and its local nickname "The Heart of the Island," which was even commemorated by a special anniversary ale brewed by Kraemer & Kin Brewery.
