This resolution honors Dr. Juana Parillon, a Dominican-American immigrant and distinguished Marine Corps veteran who served for over two decades in leadership roles focusing on human relations, mediation, and conflict resolution. As one of only 37 Equal Opportunity Advisors (EOAs) in the Marine Corps, she developed training programs, conducted organizational surveys, and resolved disputes across various organizations. In 2012, she founded the Mentors in Action program in Albany, Georgia, which enabled Marines to volunteer in local schools, earning her the Forty Under 40 Award. Dr. Parillon is also a sought-after public speaker, mediator, and conflict resolution consultant who has worked across non-profit, corporate, military, and higher education sectors. She holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and is currently working on book projects. The Rhode Island House of Representatives officially recognizes her nearly forty years of exemplary service to the nation and directs the Secretary of State to send her a certified copy of the resolution as a formal acknowledgment of her significant contributions.
