This bill requires the Office of Workforce Strategy (OWS) to take specific actions to support financial aid for students in paramedic certificate programs. Starting October 1, 2025, and annually thereafter, the OWS must identify and publicize various public and private financial aid sources available to students in paramedic certificate programs approved by the Office of Emergency Medical Services. The office will be required to post these financial aid sources on its website and distribute the list to each paramedic certificate program. Additionally, the OWS must develop and implement a new financial aid program specifically for students enrolled in approved paramedic certificate programs. By January 1, 2026, the office must submit a report to the legislative committee overseeing higher education and employment advancement, detailing the new financial aid program, including the amount of aid students may receive and any recommended legislative actions for program implementation. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, with the goal of increasing financial support and accessibility for students pursuing paramedic certification.
