This resolution honors the life of Dr. Esco Hall, Jr. and dedicates a portion of State Route 15 in Appling County, Georgia, as the Dr. Esco Hall, Jr. Highway. The resolution highlights Dr. Hall's remarkable achievements, including being one of the first two Black students to graduate with a veterinary medicine doctorate from the University of Georgia in 1973, serving as a veterinarian for over 46 years, and making history as the first Black city councilmember of Baxley City Council, a position he held for 36 years until his passing in 2019. The Georgia Department of Transportation is authorized to erect and maintain appropriate highway signs marking the dedicated road, and the House of Representatives' Clerk is directed to provide copies of the resolution to Dr. Hall's family and the Department of Transportation, thereby formally recognizing Dr. Hall's significant contributions to his community and state.
