The Enhanced Income Verification Platform must use automated, real-time data matching to proactively identify potential income reporting discrepancies or instances of improper benefit payments. It will allow for direct access to deposit account transaction data with the applicant's permission, giving them an opportunity to review and confirm the accuracy of their income information. The bill defines "enhanced gross income" very broadly to include virtually all forms of financial income, whether taxable or non-taxable, ensuring a comprehensive view of an individual's or household's financial resources. By creating this platform, the bill aims to improve the accuracy of benefit eligibility determinations and reduce improper payments across federal benefit programs administered by federal, state, or local governments.
