This bill amends the existing law regarding housing voucher reporting by changing the annual report submission deadline from March 1 to April 15, starting in 2026 instead of 2023. The bill updates references from the "office of housing and community development" (OHCD) to the "department of housing" and ensures that the department can access a full calendar year's worth of housing choice voucher data before preparing its annual report. The report will continue to include detailed information about housing vouchers, such as the total number of vouchers utilized by public housing authorities, administrative fees, unfunded vouchers, and fees collected by municipalities in lieu of developing low- and moderate-income housing. The report will remain a public record, available on the department's website for at least three years, and will provide both aggregated and disaggregated data for each public housing authority. The primary purpose of the bill is to align the report submission deadline with the availability of federal data, thereby improving the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the annual housing voucher report.
