This bill amends Florida law to establish a new fee structure for dog breeders seeking registration and renewal certificates from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The department must provide written notice to dog breeders at least 60 days before their annual renewal date, including information about the applicable fee. The legislation also maintains existing provisions allowing the department to assess late filing penalties up to $500 and grants the department discretion to extend renewal dates without penalty for up to 90 days in cases of hardship, natural disasters, or unusual circumstances. Dog breeders are still required to prominently display their registration and inspection certificates in a publicly visible location. The bill is contingent on the passage of related legislation (HB 1481) and will take effect on the same date as that bill.
