This resolution recognizes and commends Colonel (Ret.) Laurie Vernita Monsegue Brasher for her distinguished 26-year military career in the United States Army, which began after her commission through the ROTC program in 1978. The resolution highlights her service in multiple locations including Stuttgart, Germany; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Indianapolis, Indiana; North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; and St. Louis, Missouri, where she ultimately retired in 2004. Throughout her career, she held various significant roles, including serving as an ROTC instructor, Personnel Officer, and ultimately becoming a Colonel assigned to the Human Resources Command as the Director of Officer Personnel Management. The resolution also acknowledges her continued community involvement with the National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW), where she has served as National Treasurer and Membership Chairperson.
