This resolution pays tribute to David Thomas Roberts, a Texas entrepreneur and author who passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 65. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, Roberts graduated from Aldine High School in Houston and attended the University of Texas at Austin, going on to establish several successful businesses including Teligistics, Defiance Press & Publishing, and Comanche Rose Ranch. He was a prolific author, writing six books, holding numerous patents, and was known for his entrepreneurial skills and strong work ethic. Roberts was married to Rose Marquez for over four decades and was a proud father of four children and grandfather to nine grandchildren. The resolution, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, formally acknowledges Roberts' contributions, honors his memory, and extends condolences to his family, with an official copy of the resolution to be prepared for his family and the House adjourning in his memory.
