These resources must be delivered by postal mail unless the individual consents to electronic notification and must include two key components: (a) up-to-date, evidence-based, and culturally appropriate written information about Alzheimer's disease, developed by medical experts, medical organizations, disability experts, and patient advocacy groups, which covers the range of physical, developmental, educational, and psychosocial outcomes for individuals living with the disease; and (b) contact information for organizations specializing in Alzheimer's disease support, such as the Alzheimer's Association. The goal of the bill is to ensure that individuals recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease receive comprehensive, accessible information and support resources to help them better understand and manage their condition.
