Founded in 1975 by six major corporations, the GMSDC has grown to include over 400 corporations and government entities working with 1,400 small and minority business suppliers. The organization has generated more than $11 billion in annual revenue, with an economic impact exceeding $20 billion, and has supported tens of thousands of jobs across the state. The GMSDC provides crucial services including business certification, development support, mentoring, leadership training, and financial resources, and annually hosts Minority Business Opportunity Week to celebrate minority-owned businesses. The resolution formally recognizes the organization's achievements and extends best wishes for its continued success, with the House of Representatives' Clerk directed to provide an official copy of the resolution to the GMSDC.
