This resolution commends the McDonough High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Warhawk Battalion for its outstanding achievements and contributions. The Warhawk Battalion, composed of students from McDonough High School and Middle School, is recognized as one of the most decorated NJROTC units in Henry County, having been selected as a Distinguished Unit 19 times in the last 20 years. Led by three retired naval instructors, the program has helped eight cadets gain entrance to U.S. service academies and supported many others in pursuing higher education. The battalion emphasizes community involvement through various service projects, including Veterans Day Parade participation, community clean-up efforts, and charitable drives. The resolution highlights the program's commitment to leadership development, academic excellence, and community service, and officially commends the Warhawk Battalion for its decades of service to Henry County. Additionally, the resolution directs the House of Representatives' Clerk to provide an official copy of the resolution to the NJROTC unit.
