This bill authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to convey two separate parcels of land within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in Arizona to Navajo County and Apache County, respectively. For Navajo County, the bill allows the transfer of approximately 2.5 acres of existing cemetery land and an additional 2.5 acres for cemetery expansion, based on a specific map dated May 23, 2022. For Apache County, the bill permits the transfer of approximately 2.56 acres of existing cemetery land and an additional 8.06 acres of townsite tract, according to a map dated October 2019. In both cases, the conveyances are subject to specific conditions: the counties must request the transfer within a specified timeframe (180 days for Navajo County, 365 days for Apache County), pay all associated conveyance costs, and use the land exclusively as a cemetery. If the land is used for purposes other than a cemetery, ownership will revert back to the United States. The transfers will be made without financial consideration, by quitclaim deed, and will be subject to valid existing rights, with the Secretary of Agriculture having the authority to correct minor mapping errors and determine the final survey details.
