This resolution honors the life and public service of Richard "Ricky" Swick, the former mayor of Bremond, Texas, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at age 69. Born in Marlin in 1956, Swick was a longtime GATX employee who worked for 42 years and was deeply committed to his community, serving on the Bremond City Council from 1981 and as mayor from 1988 to 2005 and again from 2009 until his death. He was an active community member involved with the Bremond Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Married to Beverly Cox for over 45 years, Swick was a father to four children and grandfather to seven, and the resolution extends sincere sympathy to his entire family, including his wife, children, sisters, mother, grandchildren, and other relatives. The Texas House of Representatives unanimously adopted this resolution on March 31, 2025, paying tribute to Swick's life and community contributions, and ordering an official copy of the resolution be prepared for his family as a memorial.
