This bill amends South Carolina's hunting regulations by slightly extending the antlered deer hunting season in certain game zones. Specifically, the bill modifies Section 50-11-310 of the South Carolina Code to change the end date of deer hunting seasons from January 1st to January 5th. The bill affects four different game zones with varying hunting periods and methods: Game Zone 1 allows hunting from October 1 to January 15 using primitive weapons, archery equipment, and firearms; Game Zone 2 has a more complex schedule with different periods for archery, primitive weapons, and general firearms; Game Zone 3 permits hunting from August 15 to January 15 with archery equipment and firearms; and Game Zone 4 allows hunting from August 15 to August 31 with archery equipment, and from September 1 to January 15 with archery equipment and firearms. The bill takes effect upon approval by the Governor, providing hunters with a few additional days of hunting opportunity at the end of the season.
