This joint resolution directs the Joint Interim Standing Committee on the Judiciary to conduct a comprehensive study on human trafficking in Nevada during the 2025-2026 legislative interim. The study will examine multiple aspects of human trafficking, including current legal and systemic processes, existing programs and services for victims, resources and needs of stakeholders, training and reporting policies, and strategies for supporting victims through domestic violence frameworks. Specifically, the committee will review services provided by the Division of Child and Family Services, analyze data collection efforts, consult with various human trafficking coalitions and task forces, explore training approaches for identifying trafficking, develop regulatory standards for victim support services, and investigate broader systemic issues affecting human trafficking victims. The committee is required to submit a report with legislative recommendations to the Legislative Counsel Bureau for the 84th Session of the Nevada Legislature, reflecting the state's recognition of its high ranking in human trafficking cases and commitment to creating a more robust legal and support framework for victims.
