The working group will comprise members from legislative committees, state health and consumer protection departments, senior advocacy organizations, and funeral industry representatives. They are required to submit a comprehensive report with findings and potential legislation by November 30, 2025, and will be supported by a community mediation center to help facilitate their work. The resolution aims to promote ethical practices and transparency in cremation services by ensuring families are informed about and can make decisions regarding metal implants left after cremation.
