This joint resolution mourns the death of Larry Horace Barnett, a 77-year-old Huntsville, Alabama businessman and community supporter, who was born in 1947 as the only child of Robert and Hazel Barnett. A graduate of Madison Academy and veteran of the Army Reserve during the Vietnam era, Barnett founded Larry's Pistol and Pawn in 1974, which grew to include two locations and became known for firearms sales and a personal museum of unique firearms. He was a founding member of the Huntsville Police Citizen's Foundation, supporting fallen and injured officers, and received numerous prestigious awards in the firearms retail industry, including the SHOT Business Magazine Dealer of the Year. Barnett was married for 56 years to Janice Tittsworth, with whom he had a son, Robert Noel, and was a grandfather and great-grandfather. The resolution expresses deep sadness at his passing, recognizes his contributions to his community and business, and offers heartfelt sympathy to his family, acknowledging him as a testament to love, leadership, and service.
