Companies must submit an annual compliance certification, and the CIO has the authority to issue waivers or designate exemptions for certain entities. The attorney general, in consultation with the CIO, can audit these policies. If a company is already required to file cybersecurity compliance with the department of financial services, those filings can be done jointly.
