This bill provides state funding of $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 to support two historic preservation and renovation projects in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Specifically, $850,000 is allocated to rehabilitate the George Stoppel stone house and barn, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and owned by the Olmsted County Historical Society. The funding will also support constructing an accessible pathway to the farmstead. The remaining $2,150,000 is designated for designing and constructing renovations to the History Center of Olmsted County in Rochester. All restoration work must adhere to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior's standards for treating historic properties. The appropriation is a one-time funding allocation and will remain available until the projects are either completed or abandoned, in accordance with state financial guidelines. The funds will be appropriated from the state's general fund and distributed through the Minnesota Historical Society to the Olmsted County Historical Society.
