This bill modifies existing insurance law to allow licensed insurance professionals (including agents, brokers, adjusters, consultants, and intermediaries) to carry over up to five hours of continuing education (CE) credit from one biennial licensing period to the next. Previously, any excess CE hours earned during a licensing period could not be applied to the next period. The new provision gives these professionals more flexibility in meeting their ongoing education requirements by permitting them to transfer a limited number of excess credit hours between licensing cycles. This change provides a small but meaningful accommodation for insurance professionals who may have completed more than the required training hours in a given two-year period, allowing them to use those extra hours in the subsequent licensing period.
