The training will cover topics such as research-based teaching practices in reading and math, interpreting assessment data, innovative personnel practices, budgeting transparency, capital planning, and relevant legal requirements. Additionally, the bill mandates that the state comptroller create a publicly accessible, searchable online database of public school expenditures by September 1, 2025, which will include detailed information about spending such as transaction amounts, dates, payors, payees, employee roles, and curriculum purchases. The database must allow users to search, aggregate, and download expenditure information, while protecting certain confidential details. Each public school will be required to submit transaction data and post a link to their expenditure summary on their website, and the comptroller will update the database annually at no cost to users. The implementation of the expenditure database rules must be completed by December 1, 2025, with the entire act taking effect on September 1, 2025.
