This resolution commends Lamont Davis, a Gulfport, Mississippi resident, for being named "Instructor of the Year" at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC). The award, established by the MGCCC Alumni Association, recognizes Davis's teaching excellence, college and community service, and professional development. Davis is a Maritime Multi-Craft Instructor who has worked at the college for five years and brings extensive professional experience, including service as a U.S. Navy Assistant Officer, Maintenance Supervisor, and roles in various technical and supervisory positions. With an impressive educational background that includes an Associate Degree from MGCCC, an Engineering Technology Certification from Devry University, and a U.S. Navy Construction Mechanic Certification, Davis has been recognized for his dedication to education and his commitment to teaching individuals in the state. The resolution formally congratulates Davis, wishes him success in his future endeavors, and directs that the resolution be presented to Davis, forwarded to the MGCCC President, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
