This resolution pays tribute to Leonard Frank Iltis Jr. of Georgetown, Texas, who passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in San Antonio in 1936, Iltis was a devoted family man who was married to Geraldine Waldo for 65 years until her passing in 2022, and together they had four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Professionally, he worked as an aviation mechanic and supervisor with the Texas National Guard, participating in disaster relief efforts after Hurricanes Beulah and Celia. Iltis was deeply committed to his faith, active in St. Helen Catholic Church, and involved with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Knights of Columbus. He was known for his volunteerism, particularly at The Caring Place thrift store in Georgetown, where he used his mechanical skills to help others. The resolution, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, honors his life, extends sympathy to his family, including his sons Wayne and Glenn, daughters Lynne and Andrea, brothers Alois and Thomas, and grandchildren, and orders an official copy of the resolution to be prepared for his family as a memorial.
