This resolution recognizes and commends the Davis House Child Advocacy Center in Franklin, Tennessee, on its twenty-fifth anniversary. Founded in 1999 by Ronald L. Davis, a district attorney, the center was created to address the traumatic process children experienced when reporting abuse, which often involved repeating their stories multiple times to different adults. Davis House provides a safe, child-friendly environment where children can receive forensic interviews, court advocacy, and specialized trauma therapy after experiencing abuse. The center has completed over 10,000 forensic interviews and 5,000 counseling sessions, serving more than 300 children annually. Recognizing that abuse occurs across all communities and that one in ten children are sexually abused before turning eighteen, Davis House also focuses on education and prevention programs, teaching children about personal safety and helping adults identify potential abuse. The center collaborates with law enforcement, the Department of Children's Services, and other agencies to comprehensively address child abuse cases. By providing critical support services, raising awareness, and working to prevent abuse, Davis House has been instrumental in creating a safer and more resilient community in Williamson County.
