This resolution extends commendation and thanks to DeSoto County Deputy Sheriff Brian Brock for a heroic act on March 4, 2025, where he deliberately positioned his patrol vehicle to stop a wrong-way driver on Interstate 269, potentially saving other motorists' lives. In a critically dangerous situation, Deputy Brock knowingly intercepted an oncoming vehicle traveling at high speed in the wrong direction, fully aware that doing so could result in his own death. In his own words, he "tugged on his seatbelt twice" and prepared to take the impact, ultimately preventing a potential multi-vehicle collision. The resolution, passed by the Mississippi Senate, recognizes Brock's extraordinary courage and split-second decision-making, with DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle praising the deputy's strong will in making an incredibly difficult choice.
