The Hawaii State Senate is formally recognizing these events and joining the European Parliament in urging Turkey and Iraq to officially acknowledge the genocide, provide access to historical archives, and transmit this resolution to key governmental and scholarly entities, including the U.S. Secretary of State, the governors of Hawaii, the presidents of Turkey and Iraq, and the International Association of Genocide Scholars.
