This bill requires county auditors to prepare and file a district parcel record with the county recorder for drainage or levee districts within their county. Specifically, when a county auditor receives a survey and report or a permanent survey, plat, and profile for a district, they must create a document that identifies all parcels within that district. This record must include the legal description, parcel identification number (if available), and the names of property owners for each forty-acre tract or fraction thereof. The county auditor must also update the record with any amendments and provide these to the county recorder within a reasonable time. Importantly, counties are prohibited from charging the district any fees for this filing process. The bill sets a deadline of June 30, 2026, for county auditors who have not previously filed such a record to prepare and submit their district parcel record. The provision requiring initial filing will be automatically repealed on July 1, 2026.
