Additionally, the bill removes the requirement to exclusively use the COMMBUYS system (a state procurement platform) and instead allows governmental bodies to notify the public of procurement opportunities through "additional means reasonably calculated to notify the public." These changes are intended to provide more flexibility for local governments in their purchasing processes while maintaining transparency and competitive bidding practices.
