Additionally, campuses must keep these opioid antagonists on-site in each college-operated housing facility and ensure they are readily accessible to RAs for emergency use with any student, staff member, or individual on the premises who is suspected of experiencing an opioid overdose. The bill further requires that the relevant state departments (the department of public health and the department of higher education) collaborate to develop and implement specific regulations to carry out these requirements, with the ultimate goal of preventing fatal overdoses and improving campus safety.
