This bill amends the Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave law by modifying the definitions of "covered business entity" and "covered contract worker" in Chapter 175M of the General Laws. Specifically, a "covered business entity" is now defined as a business or trade where 50% or more of its workforce consists of contracted individuals who are not considered employees under the employment classification test in Chapter 151A. A "covered contract worker" is defined as an individual who is not an employee under the same classification test and for whom an employer or covered business entity must contribute to the Family and Employment Security Trust Fund.
