This resolution commends the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF) for its 25-year history of cultural excellence and community engagement. Founded in 2000 by the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the AJFF has grown from a small inaugural audience of 1,900 to a record-breaking annual attendance of over 40,000, making it the largest Jewish film festival in the world and a significant cultural event in Georgia. The festival partners with various educational and cultural organizations to foster dialogue and understanding across diverse communities, and has expanded its impact by hosting special events like a concert of Jewish film scores and a student screening about Holocaust history. For its 25th anniversary in 2025, AJFF will feature 88 theatrical screenings of 64 films from 22 countries and has launched the Kenny Blank Vision Initiative, a $2.5 million campaign aimed at transforming the organization into a year-round Jewish cultural institution. The resolution formally recognizes the AJFF's artistic excellence, cultural impact, and commitment to community building through film, and directs the House of Representatives' Clerk to provide an official copy of the resolution to the festival.
