All board members will be required to complete this training within 60 days of becoming a board member and then every two years thereafter. After completing the training, board members must provide a completion notice to their local town or city clerk, who will retain the documentation for six years. This bill seeks to improve the knowledge and effectiveness of local land use board members by ensuring they receive consistent, comprehensive training on their roles and legal responsibilities.
