This bill allows golf carts to be driven on public ways in the town of Hatfield, subject to several specific restrictions and requirements. Operators must first register their golf cart with the town clerk, obtain a registration decal, and provide proof of insurance and pass a safety inspection by the police chief. Drivers must have a valid driver's license, and learner's permit holders can only operate a golf cart with a licensed driver adjacent to them. The bill prohibits modifying golf carts to enhance speed, limits golf cart operation to roads with speed limits of 40 miles per hour or less, and caps golf cart speeds at 20 miles per hour.
