This bill creates a new type of specialty license plate to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, specifically through collaboration with the P.C.U.P.S. Foundation. The secretary of state will develop and issue these special fund-raising license plates in partnership with the P.C.U.P.S. Foundation, designing a unique plate to recognize prostate cancer awareness. A new prostate cancer awareness fund will be established within the state treasury, which can receive donations and investments from various sources. All money collected from the sale of these special license plates will be transferred to the state treasurer and deposited into this dedicated fund. The state treasurer will then disburse the collected funds to the P.C.U.P.S. Foundation on a quarterly basis. Any money in the fund at the end of the fiscal year will remain in the fund and will not revert to the general fund. The bill will take effect 90 days after its enactment, providing a mechanism for generating financial support for prostate cancer-related initiatives through a specialized vehicle registration program.
