This bill amends a previous funding provision to expand career pathway financial assistance for nursing professionals in long-term care facilities. Specifically, the bill broadens existing support to include pathways for certified nurses' aides, home health aides, and other entry-level workers to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or registered nurses (RNs), and for current LPNs to advance to become RNs. The financial assistance will be available to students who are either enrolled in a public community college in Massachusetts or in a Practical Nursing Program at a Career/Vocational Technical Education School. This expansion aims to address workforce development and career progression in the healthcare sector, particularly in long-term care settings, by providing financial support to help workers advance their nursing credentials and professional skills.
